Hi, I'm the Doula!
I am glad you're here! I am committed to providing compassionate support to families during some of life’s most significant transitions. I honor that the journey of parenthood can include incredible joys, challenges and profound losses. I support my clients in whatever their journey involves. I believe in the significance of personalized care, the power of parent education and adapting wholesome nourishment into your daily life.
As a Postpartum Doula, my goal is to foster a comfortable environment where every client feels safe, supported and nurtured. I believe that every birth story is unique and that my role is to honor and support each family in their personal journey. Through education, advocacy, and unwavering support, I aim to create an informed and compassionate experience for all.

With my formal education in Early Childhood Development, along with the diverse and immersive training I received for my Postpartum & Infant Care Certification, I am able to provide an intentional and meaningful service to families within the Tucson community. Additionally, I have recently completed two trainings: a Patient Family Partner certification with Momma's Voices, where I advocate for the ongoing mission to improve maternal health outcomes and birth equity; and as a Postpartum Transition Coach, with an in depth focus on different ways for parents to incorporate healthy life choices.
Postpartum work is a way for me to blend together the things I am most passionate about: healthy families, including perinatal mental health; healing through nutrition, and teaching! Being able to combine my love of these, has enabled me to create a bridge of care and support that spans across these topics.
When I'm not serving my clients or advocating for positive changes in perinatal mental health, I'm cooking up new recipes in my kitchen, having a cup of hot tea and reading a good book, or walking my dogs!

It would be an honor to bring my understanding of the Postpartum journey into your life during this wonderfully profound time. I look forward to supporting you and your family!

My Story
For as long as I can remember, I have gravitated towards the comfort and well-being of others. As a teenager, I volunteered as a Candy Striper at Tucson Medical Center and absolutely loved helping others find their way around the Labor and Delivery Ward, catching glimpses at the families joyfully snuggling up with their new baby, or escorting an injured patient to a Physical Therapy or imaging appointment. I enjoyed babysitting for family and friends and learning how to cook and bake with my both of my grandmothers. I was also surrounded by a family of schoolteachers, and often pretended that I when I grew up, I'd become a teacher, too! When it came time to choose my first career, it felt like second nature to go down that path as well.

I happily taught as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher at the very same school I attended as a small child! One of my favorite parts about being a Pre-K Teacher was making meaningful connections with parents and caretakers, and creating a warm, caring environment that included family participation. After being an Early Childhood Educator for 10 years, and becoming a parent myself, I realized that I wanted to further be of service to families. I saw firsthand the need for postnatal support for new parents and felt the undeniable call to become a Postpartum Doula. It was through my training that I began to understand how I could better serve new and diverse families in Tucson, providing them with tools, restorative care, and support that is vital during Postpartum.
It is an honor and a privilege to be called to do this sacred work, and I am grateful for the opportunity to walk this path alongside parents and healthcare providers within our community!

Why Swaying Saguaro?
It is believed that the Saguaro is looked upon as a spirit helper and its blossoms help us understand and trust our inner wisdom. Saguaros can be used medicinally, as they restore the body during an ailment. They also represent parental love and care. Saguaros can survive in harsh conditions, and because of this, they are a symbol of unconditional love. A parent's love is strong and enduring just like a Saguaro!
The "swaying" part of Swaying Saguaro was chosen because of the slow swaying movement most parents innately engage in to soothe their baby. For me, the Saguaro encompasses my philosophy as a Postpartum Doula and a parent.
